 On Saturday, a 40-year-old man was beaten to death on suspicion of child theft on the border of Nawada and Gaya districts of Bihar.  The deceased was identified as Shanti Devi, a resident of Sirdala police station in Nawada.


 Police have detained some suspects in the incident in Nagwawa village in Fatehpur police station area and are searching for the other suspects.


 The video of the incident, which seems to have gone viral on social media, shows the victim being beaten by children and people.

 The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police station, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.  For the first time, people detained an elderly man who had gone to the area on suspicion.  According to the victim's daughter, Neelu Devi, her mother went to Nagwan Bazaar, 5 km from Angra village, and did not return until evening.  She was reported to have been admitted to Sirdala Primary Health Center at around 6pm.  He immediately went to the health center with other members of the family and saw that his mother's condition was critical.  Shanti Devi was later taken to Sadar Hospital.  He was pronounced dead at the scene late Friday night.


 The incident took place in Fatehpur police station, said Sirdala Station House Officer Ashish Kumar Mishra, while Fatehpur Station House Officer Bharat Shah said the incident took place in another village.


 Multiple police teams have been formed to apprehend the accused.  Gaya Range IG Rakesh Rathi said, "We will take stern action against them."
