 Unemployment benefits will be available to industrial workers who have lost their jobs due to the Karona epidemic.  Its benefits will be provided to its members through the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ES8IC).  Unemployed workers will receive an allowance as part of the Uninsured Individual Welfare Scheme.  The announcement was made today by the central government.  Workers will be paid 50 percent of their wages as unemployment benefits.  The scheme will benefit about 7 million workers who are members of ESGIC.


 Unemployed employees have to apply to the ESGIC branch to avail the benefits of the scheme.  After checking all the documents, the money will be credited to the applicant's bank account for the allowance.  Aadhaar number assistance will be taken for this.  According to the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CM4IE), about 1.7 crore people have lost their jobs.  In July alone, five million people lost their jobs.
