(Only 27 trees have been planted in 4 years)

Coal mines play a key role in increasing pollution in the town of Talcher in the city of Kalahira.  All yak mines are under EMCL.  Residents of the Talcher sub-continent are living in the midst of pollution due to coal mining.  While the government is now focusing on forest protection and afforestation, MCL Talcher, however, is not taking concrete steps in this direction.  In the last four years, only 26 trees have been planted by the MLCL Talcher area, of which 5 have not been planted at all in the last five years.

According to the RTI Act, only 27 trees have been planted by the MLCL Talcher sector from the 2010-11 financial year to the 2017-18 fiscal year, while 1,745 trees have been planted so far.  From the 2010-11 financial year to the 2013-14 financial year, the MCL did not plant any trees in the area.  In the 2014-15 financial year, only six trees were planted.  So far no one was able to send in the perfect solution, which is not strange.  Not a single tree was planted in the 2015-16 financial year.  In the 2017-18 financial year, a maximum of 2,100 trees were planted, while it was estimated that Rs 1,27,080 had been spent.  Similarly, 550 trees were planted in the 2016-17 financial year, while Rs 43,105 has been planted and only 60 trees have been planted in the 2017-18 financial year.  So Rs 4,050 has been spent on this.  In that sense, it is possible MGCL was concerned about environmental protection.
