 Authorities opposed the protest with all available police forces, special services and the army. "  The video went viral on social media of a crocodile rescued from a paddy field in Talasi village near Digapahanti in Ganjam district.  The Berhampur Forest Department has since taken action in the case.  Digapahanti Deputy Ranger Pramod Khadgharay, Forester Sitaram Patra and Forest Guard Rajeshwar Behera have been suspended.


 A crocodile was rescued on Thursday evening from a paddy field in the village of Talasih in the Digapahanti block.  It was the villagers who rescued the crocodile.  The crocodile was also rescued by villagers, according to Forest Department Tatam Thai.  The crocodile was then taken by a forest department employee and a local villager on a bike and released at the Horse Dam Dam.  The crocodile tied his face to the ax while riding the bike.  Digapahanti Deputy Ranger Pramodai Kumar Khadgaraya, Forester (Forest) Sitaram Patra and Forest Guard (Forest Guard) Rajeshwar Behera have been suspended after the video went viral on social media.
