The NET (National Eligibility Comm. 4 Entrance Test) has been launched today for enrollment in medical courses.  The test is being held between 2 and 5 p.m.  However, the test center gate opened at 11 a.m. and closed at 1:30 p.m.  Covid rules have been observed in six test centers in Odisha for the NIT test.  A long line of test takers was seen at the test center in the morning.

Today, 36,456 students will take the exam.  In Bhubaneswar, 15,04 students are expected to appear for the exams at 31 centers, 58 in 18 centers in Cuttack, 4 in 14 centers in Sambalpur, 3,831 in 11 centers in Baleshwar, 371 in 7 centers in Berhampur and 160 in 5 centers in Rourkela.  .

Palli Pattanayak, state coordinator of the NIT, said that there would be an isolation room at the test center for the NIT like the JEE sheep.  Excessive temperatures or sick candidates will test there.  For them, two test controllers will run the test wearing PPE kits.  In addition, special accommodations have been set up for physically challenged candidates.  This time no examiner will touch the test account of the test taker.  Students will only sign.  Emphasis is placed on ensuring that the officer in charge of administering the test along with the examinee is safe.  In Bhubaneswar, buses have been set up for 31 candidates with 31 test centers.  Eight OAS4 officers in four zones have been tasked with this.
