An agreement has been signed between India and Japan on troops and services. India and Japan will provide military assistance to each other during the war. India, the United States, France, South Korea, Singapore and Australia have already signed such agreements. The MoU was signed by Indian Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar and Japanese Ambassador Suzuki Satoshi Mutual Logistics Support Organization (MLSA). Earlier, India's 2016 deal with the United States was called "The Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Understanding". Under the deal, India has access to fuel at the U.S. military base in Zibaiti, Diego Garcia, Guam and Subic. The historic defense agreement between India and Japan is being given priority. After the deal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Both thanked each other. This is the first time a military agreement has been reached with Japan. But the strategic relationship was already there. China’s siege of the Indian Ocean could be broken or halted amid ongoing unrest in the LAC over border disputes. After the deal, India's dominance in the Indian Ocean will increase. The deal is expected to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries. The agreement will further strengthen the armies of the two countries, according to a statement issued by the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
